Princess Basma attended the 70th anniversary celebration of the Young Women’s Christian Association of Jordan, where she praised the organization’s long-standing contributions to community service, women’s empowerment, youth development, and the promotion of citizenship and social responsibility. She noted that the YWCA’s seven decades of work reflect a strong belief in the importance of investing in people and strengthening the role of women in society.
During the event, Princess Basma highlighted how the YWCA’s journey mirrors Jordan’s values of coexistence, inclusion, and national unity, bringing together people of different backgrounds in service of the country. YWCA President Hania Qaqish emphasized that the association has consistently championed women as essential partners in development and nation-building, operating in line with Jordan’s traditions of pluralism, respect, and human dignity.
The celebration also showcased the YWCA’s achievements in supporting women and families through economic empowerment initiatives, training programs, and community services. Cultural performances were held to mark the occasion, and Princess Basma honored YWCA pioneers, volunteers, scholarship supporters, and outstanding female students in recognition of their contributions to the organization’s humanitarian and educational mission.
