AMMAN (Petra) - HRH Princess Basma on Tuesday met with Mohamed Matar, an international expert on human trafficking, and an accompanying delegation, and discussed means to combat the crime.


They reviewed Jordan’s strategy to combat human trafficking, stressing the need to launch awareness campaigns to highlight the dangers of the crime.
 

They also agreed to form a coordination committee to draw up executive plans for campaigns, focusing on the role of the private sector and civil societies.
 

Last month, Princess Basma participated in the UN-sponsored International Forum Against Human Trafficking in Luxor, where she said human trafficking represents an assault on the core values of humanity.
