Princess Basma speaks at the Jordanian Women’s National Forum which was held for the launch of two reports on the situation of women in Jordan and the world.
The “National Report 2011: Progress of Jordanian Women toward Justice, Participation and Equality, prepared by the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW), and the Arabic version of the UN Women report, “The Progress of the World’s Women 2011-2012: In Pursuit of Justice” both reports come amidst turbulent events across the Arab world towards Justice.
During her keynote address Her Royal Highness noted that “The equality to which every person aspires, depends on there being a general sense of justice, in all its forms, based on the participation of all sectors and groups of society, including women”

The Jordanian National Commission for Women Secretary General Asma Khader presents the commission’s report to HRH Princess Basma.
The 2011 report focuses on three main themes: Justice, Equality and Participation.

Princess Basma, a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, at the Jordanian Women’s National Forum event which included the launch of the Arabic version of the UN Women report, “The Progress of the World’s Women 2011-2012: In Pursuit of Justice” The UN Women report offers a comprehensive global review of women’s rights around the world.
It uses the issue of women’s access to justice to highlight the many ways in which injustice against women is still rife, right across the globe – in the home, in the workplace, in politics and in justice systems.
