Princess Basma Visits Garment Factory in Ajloun

AMMAN — Celebrating International Women’s Day, HRH Princess Basma on Friday visited a garment factory in Ajloun that employs 382 women and 18 people with disabilities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The princess toured the manufacturing facility and met with workers, expressing her pride in Jordanian women in the labour market.

The factory’s manager briefed the princess on the workers’ roles in various sections. For their part, the workers stressed the ability of women to cope with the circumstances of work and to overcome obstacles.

One of the workers briefed Princess Basma on her experiences working at the factory, studying at university and helping her family, stressing the role of women in enhancing overall development. The four-year-old factory provides transport allowances, a nursery for workers’ children, production incentives, daily meals and social security subscription.
