ZARQA- HRH Princess Basma, President of the Jordanian National Forum for Women (JNFW), on Tuesday highlighted women′s achievements at all levels over the last few years.

Attending a ceremony in Zarqa to honour JNFW members on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Princess said women are now able to play an integral role in the Kingdom′s development process and stressed the importance of training and rehabilitation in enabling women to overcome obstacles facing them.

She called for a change in practices and behaviours that violate women′s rights.

During the ceremony, women talked to the Princess about their experience in the activities and projects organised by the JNFW, including a project for producing foodstuff.

An interactive theatre piece depicting women′s struggle against violence was performed at the event.
